Architecture advisory

North American cities, big and small, have been experiencing significant growth over the last decade. As the transition to more climate-focused development is pursued by both cities and private sector developers, Danish architecture firms are well positioned to service many unique design needs across the spectrum of the development industry in both Canada and the United States.

Danish firms are well-positioned for success, however there remain some strategic barriers to entry to overcome for a successful project in market. The Danish Trade Council’s Architecture Advisory service is here to help guide Danish architecture firms to successful project tenders through a strategic focus based on your unique value proposition in the market.

Our skilled advisors and industry experts will help Danish architecture firms:

  • Understand nuanced regional market trends across Canada and the United States by industry sector and geography
  • Understand their unique value position in the market based on competitive advantage
  • Understand architectural licensing standards and regulations across state or provincial jurisdictions in the United States and Canada
  • Find relevant joint-venture partners for collaboration
  • Meet with both public and private-sector industry stakeholders such as local politicians, relevant city staff, private developers and non-governmental organisations like the Green Building Council or local Chamber of Commerce.
  • Uniquely market your professional services through curated marketing activities with key North American partners like the Urban Land Institute local chapter.
  • Stay up to date on upcoming and active tender opportunities specific to your target market.

The climate bridges alliance

To target opportunities in municipal and private development related to climate adaptation and resilience, the Architecture Advisory has created the Climate Bridges Alliance, a delegation of Danish companies which will focus on specific North American C40 markets with climate resilience and adaptation in partnership with the City of Copenhagen.

In 2021, the Climate Bridges Alliance will focus on a ten-day delegation trip to Vancouver, Los Angeles & Houston to provide a fact-finding mission as a focus-point for Danish companies involved in the climate transition.

A curated program on climate-related business opportunities will include:

  • Site visits, B2B match-making, visiting key stakeholders.
  • Exposure to North American commercial partners in each city.
  • Three digital workshops in September 2021 for introduction to delegation trip.
  • Learn about upcoming project opportunities not yet advertised.
  • Working with TC Advisors and the City of Copenhagen to advance your interests in US and Canadian cities.
