Webinar: Buy America(n) Briefing

Join us on August 23, when the Embassy in Washington, D.C., hosts a webinar on Buy America(n) provisions to bring Danish companies insights on how the laws affect their businesses and opportunities in the market.

U.S. government procurement spending occurs within the framework of the Buy America and Buy American legal structure, which the U.S. Congress has recently amended further with passage of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (“IIJA”) in November 2021.

The new Build America, Buy America provisions became effective at the beginning of summer 2022, and agencies are providing guidance now on the application of those laws and how exceptions are being implemented.

As a Danish company with activities in the U.S. or with plans to participate in the U.S. market, you should be aware that projects involving government funds come with certain conditions.

To provide Danish companies with a better understanding of the framework and which questions they should be asking when operating in or entering the U.S. government procurement market, the Embassy in Washington, DC have partnered with the corporate law firm King & Spalding.

During the free webinar, you will receive an overview of the legal regime and how the funding operates on a contract-specific basis. Further, you will obtain knowledge to assist your company in making strategic decisions about participation in IIJA projects and contracts where Buy America and Buy American laws impose domestic content requirements.
