Partner Search

Partnering with a U.S. company with local presence and experience allows the collaboration to deliver successfully on U.S. offshore wind projects from the outset.

Typically, the Danish company will bring specific offshore wind from North European projects and clients. The U.S. company will compliment the competencies and track record by leveraging the local market conditions with its existing operations, assets and capabilities.

Across the offshore wind value chain the U.S. has key regulatory and structural variances relative to Europe: these are crucial to navigate and overcome. If the work is offshore, compliance with the Jones Act is critical. Transmission and distribution require different mindsets and processes relative to Europe. Lack of a sufficiently large, qualified workforce will make a partnership with a strong local employer extremely important. Good relations with unions are key.

The Wind Energy Advisory (WEA) is experienced in assisting Danish companies in searching for U.S. partners. We leverage our official position to identify and evaluate prospects in collaboration with local authorities such as State Economic Development Agencies.

Through the collaboration with the Wind Energy Advisory, we were able to leverage their network and market understanding to identify potential partners and secure a good first inroad to them. This was an important component in us finding the right partner that could compliment Esvagt with relevant local footprint.
